Hmm.. so it says "Future All American".
I some-what disagree with Sclosser's essay because I believe that you have to start off working at a simple company like Mcdonald's before you apply for huge successfull businesses or careers like being a nurse at Seaton Medical Center, being a pharmacy technician at Longs Drugs, and so forth. You can not just walk into a hospital and ask if you can apply for a position without having any experiences and major education. You have to go through school, and education isn't as cheap as it use to be. Most people can't afford to pay like 15,000 a year for college students. I understand that there are helpful agencies who can give you a grant or loan you some money, but that's if and only you get approved. What if you don't get approved? Then that's when you start trying to find a job at the mall, or at a fast-food place or whatever. Life isn't fair, so you have to step up to the plate and make use of what you have. So in order for teenagers to help out, they apply at simple companies like Mcdonalds. It's better to make money than have nothing at all. Plus, there comes a time where you can't always ask your parents for money to buy you clothes, pay for your gas, your lunch, vacation, and all those extra things. Working at these simple companies puts cash in your pocket so you can use it for emergencies or simply just buying what you want. Also, it's up to you if you really love your job at Mcdonalds and you decide that's the right choice for you to live your life. I believe otherwise, but if you want to expand your knowledge and make more money, you have to fight through school and having a simple job like Mcdonald's by your side will and can help you through it. Working at Mcdonalds or somewhere cheap is a temporary help. It doesn't help you expand your knowledge because it only teaches the company's "bible" like how to make a burger, how to heat up fries, how to refill sodas, and how to greet and say goodbye to customers. But it's a start point... so keep struggling to learn more things so you can reach your goal in order to become very successfull in the future.
